Interaction in Distance Education: Meta-Synthesis of Qualitative Studies

Interaction in distance education processes; It has a very important place the learner's academic performance, attitude and motivation, participation lesson acquisition of instructional goals behaviors. According to data obtained as result analysis this study, which interaction synchronous asynchronous processes was investigated by qualitative meta-synthesis method; In processes, themes emerged about purposes for interactions are established, features functions can increase education, factors negatively affect process while established. these themes, also constitute aims research, established cognitive, affective collaborative purposes. Cognitively oriented interactions; ask questions-answer, asking expressing opinions, feedback, making explanations, sharing knowledge experience, participating discussions, suggesting solutions, directing, affectively focused; encouragement support, personal information, cooperation emotional is purpose determining group qualifications (members work area), coordination among members, distribution tasks within (expertise), processes. The categories on how were examined learner-teacher, learner-learner, learner-content multiple interaction. Teaching strategies that encourage peer consultation learning, course contents with detailed explanatory demonstrations, sense belonging commitment group, reducing social psychological quick reply e-mail sent learner, questions There in-depth feedback students' comments, student-teacher using alternative web resources. Among are; during process, there negative experiences, slow connection or disconnection, conflict between learners, insufficient online time interact due intensity content, dominant student being at forefront when teacher cannot manage pedagogical inadequacy affects learners.
